Kayaking the Cedar Keys has become a favorite past time. The shallow waters of the Gulf, the abundant bird life, and dolphins make Cedar Key a sea kayaker's dream! Canoes and sea kayaks are familiar sights as you wander the island. We recommend that your bring your own kayak or canoe for an optimal experience! We have a nice sandy beach here for you to launch and we have kayak/canoe racks for storage while you visit.. But, if you need to rent a kayak, there are several kayak rentals in Cedar Key - our favorite is Lost Mangrove Outfitters down at the Marina next door to Island Hopper Boat Rentals. They boast some of the best kayaks available and ask if they'll retrieve you if you get lost! Best of all - they're nice, honest folks.If you'd prefer a guided tour - checkout Wild Florida for professionally guided tours.
